There are monuments in Russia, next to which it becomes warm, cozy and calm as in childhood. One of these monuments adorns the city of Ulyanovsk. On August 1, 2008, a monument to the popularly beloved TV presenter “Aunt Vali” was unveiled in the park on Goncharova Street.

Valentina Mikhailovna Leontyeva - a native of the city of Leningrad, in 1941, fleeing starvation, together with her sister left for the village of Novosyolki, Ulyanovsk region. After the war, Valentina Mikhailovna left to enter the theater school in Moscow. She returned to her native village as a People's Artist of the USSR, laureate of the TEFI National Television Award, a woman who brought human warmth and kindness to television, a favorite and idol for millions of children and adults. Valentina Leontyeva remained in the memory of the whole country as the host of the programs: "Visiting the Fairy Tale", "Good Night, Kids", and of people of the older generation - the brilliant host of popular programs: "From the bottom of my heart" and "Blue Light". On the day of the opening of the monument, she would have turned 85 years old.

The author of the monument, sculptor Nikolai Antsiferov, depicted a slender, elegant woman sitting in thought and looking into the distance. The sculpture is cast in bronze, the pedestal is made of a rare type of granite and, complementing the composition, opposite the monument is a table with forgotten glasses of Aunt Vali with decorative benches. The sculptural composition is located in the park, opposite the regional puppet theater named after V. M. Leontyeva.
