Description of the attraction

Gennadi is a small resort town on the southeast coast of the Greek island of Rhodes, about 64 km from the capital and 18 km from Lindos. The settlement is located in a picturesque valley at some distance from the sea (400-500 m).

In recent years, Gennadi has turned from a small village into a very popular resort, while maintaining the cozy atmosphere and unique flavor of a traditional Greek settlement. Today, Gennadi has an excellent selection of hotels and comfortable apartments, as well as all the necessary travel services (shops, pharmacy, currency exchange, vehicle rental, etc.).

A walk along the narrow cobbled streets of the old city will bring a lot of pleasure to Gennadi's guests. Here you will find many cozy cafes and restaurants where you can relax and enjoy excellent local cuisine. Among the main attractions of Gennadi are the old olive press, the Church of St. John the Evangelist (19th century) and the building of the police station, built in the original Italian style. No less interesting is the Church of St. Anastasia the Roman (12th century), erected on the ruins of an older temple.

The main pride of Gennadi is undoubtedly its magnificent sandy beach (in places with small pebbles), which is rightfully considered one of the best beaches in Rhodes. The beach is partially equipped with sun loungers and sun umbrellas. There are several good bars and taverns on the beach, serving cool refreshing drinks and traditional Greek cuisine. On Sundays, there are incendiary beach parties with songs and dances until the morning.

The excellent tourist infrastructure of Gennadi, the crystal-clear waters of the sea, an excellent beach, a cozy atmosphere, as well as the cordiality and hospitality of local residents, attract more and more tourists here every year.
