Antalya, the beachfront capital of Turkey, is famous for its turquoise waters of the Mediterranean Sea, which are exquisitely set off by white beaches and green cypress trees. This region has no drawbacks. Sometimes tourists complain about the water being too warm.
In August, the peak of the swimming season begins in Antalya. There are a lot of tourists here, but they are all evenly distributed along the local beaches, so there is enough space near the water for everyone.
One of the most popular beaches in Antalya is Mermerli Beach, a stretch of coastline located near the Kaleici harbor. Once only women could rest here, but after a while it was opened for everyone (entrance to its territory is paid). This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag.
Not far from the historic center there is a quiet and peaceful Ornekkei beach. Near it there are dachas of local residents, so it is mainly the Turks themselves who swim here.

Montenegro
Beach lovers have known for a long time about a piece of paradise located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea - Montenegro. Tuapse
Tuapse is a popular Black Sea resort, which is adjacent to the small villages of Dzhubga, Lermontovo and others, which are also at the mercy of tourists.
The best beaches are located there - away from the bustling city. However, if it is not possible to settle in these villages or to ride every day in search of clean and cozy coastal areas, then in Tuapse itself you can have a good rest on the city beaches covered with pebbles, sometimes interspersed with sand.
The main local beach - the place where all vacationers meet - is Central. It is located across the Tuapse River and stretches to the beach called "Spring". It stretches for 1200 meters. The beach has excellent infrastructure: there are many additional buildings for the convenience of vacationers. There is a spacious parking lot and a playground near the beach.
Most vacationers prefer to spend time in a landscaped area of the beach, while others immediately go away from the crowd - to the wild part of Central Beach. Its capital, the city of Sukhumi, offers its guests 20 km of beaches. Moreover, some of them have a sandy cover, which is a rarity in this region. The Lisbon Riviera is the coast of the Atlantic Ocean near the capital of Portugal, where cozy beach towns are built, many of which in the past were simple fishing villages, such as the resort of Cascais.
This town, which was noticed for recreation by King Luis I at the end of the 19th century, is located just 25 km from Lisbon. A hundred years ago, the resort received the status of a royal, and the residence of the monarch appeared here. All the beaches of Palanga are municipal, which means they are absolutely free. Cycling and walking paths are laid along them, through pine groves. Most of the hotels, for which some old century-old villas have been converted, are located just behind a strip of forest. The sea is just a stone's throw from them. It will not be visible from the windows, since the pine trees obstruct the view, but you can still hear it.
The beaches of Palanga are the place where you can spend the whole day playing volleyball, walking in the botanical garden, laid out right next to the sea, looking for beautiful pebbles in the shallow water. Tourists hide from the wind in the dunes. If you don't feel like swimming, take a walk along the wooden pier, which goes almost half a kilometer into the sea.
In addition to beaches, in Palanga you can find the former palace of the Tyshkevich counts, which now houses the Amber Museum; the magnificent Birute park; sculpture park; Museum of dog figurines.
Storms in Palanga are awaited with special impatience. After them, people pour out onto the shore in search of pieces of amber. But even if you are unlucky enough to find resin cured hundreds of years ago, head to the local souvenir shops, where you can find amber jewelry at low prices.

The Curonian Spit is a sandy strip of land that separates the Baltic Sea and the Curonian Lagoon. The width of this strip varies and can reach 4 km, the length is about a hundred kilometers. The Curonian Spit belongs to Russia and Lithuania. The Russian piece of the spit stretches for 48 km. Several resorts have been built on it - Lesnoye, Rybachiy, Morskoye.

France
Paris is charming at any time of the year. In summer, it is customary to go to Bois de Vincennes, Fontainebleau and Versailles, wander lazily along the boulevards and embankments, going into the oncoming small cozy cafes and famous museums, wander for a day to Disneyland, even if you are traveling without children, get lost among the skyscrapers of La Defense, build themed routes, let soap bubbles under the Eiffel Tower. There is always a lot to do in Paris.
And in Paris, you can count bridges and take pictures on each of them. There are about four dozen bridges in Paris, so this activity will last for a long time. The Baikal National Park stretches along the western shore of Lake Baikal. Its area is 470 square kilometers. The Kanto Matsuri Paper Lantern Festival is held annually from 3 to 6 August in Akita City. The word "Kanto" is the name given to the tall poles on which paper lanterns are fixed with a lit candle inside. The poles are 12 meters high.
To the sounds of musical instruments and the shouts of the audience, each canto, which sometimes weighs about 50 kg, is lifted by one person, who must not only carry it, but also show the miracles of balancing.
The kanto is usually carried on the forehead, on one arm, on the thigh or on the shoulder. It is quite difficult, so the festival participants change each other every 2-3 minutes. At the same time, the length of the canto increases all the time, and the lanterns on the poles are added.
Lanterns look especially impressive in complete darkness. You can admire the canto procession during the 90-minute Night Parades. When there is a 15-minute break, viewers can chat with the festival participants and try to lift the canto on their own.
The route of the Night Parade follows Chuo Dori Road. For this, a section of 1 km is allotted. Paid seats are provided for tourists in the middle of the route. They need to be booked a couple of months before the start of the festival.

The peaceful, quiet town of Buñol in eastern Spain turns into a fierce battle on the last Wednesday of August, with thousands of participants gathering in a tomato battle on its streets.

Even if you do not want to be under the tomato rain, you will not be able to stay away and not get a ripe tomato that was previously pierced in the forehead, which means that it is already soft.
The battle called Tomatina begins at 10 am and lasts 2 hours. During this time, public life in Buñol ceases: all restaurants are closed, and the facades and windows are curtained with removable plates. And only crazy participants with burning eyes and crushed tomatoes under their feet throw munching fruits at each other.
The city hall of Buñol buys tomatoes for the battle. Participation in the festival is absolutely free.

Every two years in August, an amazing event takes place in the very center of Brussels - the entire square in front of the City Hall is covered with fresh flowers. The first flower festival in Brussels took place in 1971. The idea of a flower carpet was suggested by the gardener Etienne Stoutemas. Diving is possible wherever the sea is. In cool water, a wetsuit is required; in well-heated water, you can do without it. Crimea in August is a great place to train your scuba diving skills. The passages between the underground halls are created in stone rubble, it is easy to get stuck in them and panic. Sometimes mud rises in the water from the bottom, so visibility drops dramatically.
The Swallow's Nest Cave is not completely flooded with water. In one of the halls there is a layer of air under the ceiling. And absolutely all the grottoes are very picturesquely penetrated by the sun's rays.
The Black Sea off the coast of Crimea is rich in antique and medieval artifacts that sank along with the ships that transported them. Especially many interesting finds await divers in the region of Chersonesos.

Mount Babadag rises 2 thousand meters above the sea. Three platforms have been created on its slopes, from where paragliders start. The lowest one is located at an altitude of 1600 meters. The starting point on it is covered with comfortable tiles, so jumping into the sky from here is easy and graceful. The lower station is used mainly by those who are taking their first steps in paragliding or prefer to fly in tandem.
The middle platform is at an altitude of 1800 meters, and the upper one is at 2000 meters. You can get to the upper station in 1, 5 hours by jeep. The flight itself takes about 20-30 minutes.
For experienced athletes, Oludeniz offers a course of 6 lessons. They teach professionals how to behave during emergency situations in the air. For example, how to behave when a paraglider is deflated in flight.

The starting point for rafting on Okhta is Nadvoitsy station, where people get by train from Moscow or St. Petersburg. Buses run from Nadvoitsy to Muezer, where the route along Okhta actually begins. 16 kilometers separate Muezero from the neighboring Yuliaozero reservoir. From it in about a day, without hurrying anywhere, you can get to Lake Lezhevo.
Usually tourists make a long stop at Legevo, during which it is so pleasant to walk along the shore, picking northern berries, swim in warm enough water, fish, and then fry it over a fire.
The goal of all rafters is the difficult Kiviristi rapids. On the way from Legevo to it, you will meet rapids of 1-4 levels of difficulty and the island of Good Spirits, where ordinary travelers leave sculptures made with their own hands. There are so many of them that you can already open a museum.

The best time for hiking in the Khibiny mountains on the Kola Peninsula is July-August. Good health is required for trekking in the Arctic. The day's trek takes at least 10 km, tents or guest houses that can be seen along the hiking trail are used for overnight stays.

For a day you can go to the Dinaric Alps, to the village of Lukomir, where time stood still a hundred years ago. The village has no running water or electricity, and the locals earn a couple of dollars selling knitwear to tourists.
A trip to the picturesque city of Mostar will also be remembered for a long time, where you can walk around the historical center, admire the mosques and the old bridge, from which daredevils sig into the river for the fun of tourists.
