  • Geography of the region
  • The southernmost resort in Bulgaria (according to travel agencies)
  • Not a single beach

Native and close to many generations of Russian tourists, Bulgaria is located on the Balkan Peninsula and washed by the waters of the Black Sea. The swimming season on its beaches usually begins in mid-May, but the southernmost resorts in Bulgaria are ready to receive their first guests at the beginning of the May holidays.

Geography of the region

Bulgaria borders Turkey, and Silistar is considered the very first beach located a few kilometers from the southern borders of the country. It is a small sandy bay protected from the winds by a rocky coast. From the nearest village of Sinemorets, this wild beach can be reached by car along the N9901 country road. The distance between the objects is about 10 km.

In the village of Sinemorets itself there are also a couple of small sandy beaches and several guest houses and hotels. Strictly speaking, this village is the southernmost resort point in Bulgaria, where there is a tourist infrastructure necessary for a comfortable rest.

When choosing a beach suitable for relaxation in the resort, pay attention to the most popular ones:

  • The central beach of the village offers a standard set of active and not so much fun for summer holidays - riding on "bananas" and jet skis, beach volleyball, massage room and national cuisine in restaurants on the shore.
  • A couple of hundred meters north of the village, the Veleka River flows into the Black Sea and the Severny beach near its mouth is considered one of the most beautiful in Bulgaria. The seashore is covered with fine golden sand forming a long braid. On the one hand, the beach is washed by the sea, and on the other, by the fresh waters of Veleka.
  • South of Sinemorets you can swim on the Lipite beach. It is a classic wild beach, without infrastructure and lifeguards, and therefore it is preferred by fans of secluded relaxation.

There are many hotels in Sinemorets, and one of the most famous is Bella Vista Beach Club 4 *. The hotel has its own beach and operates according to the all inclusive system, beloved by Russian tourists. The cost of a day in a standard double room with early booking starts from 45 euros. The rest in Apart Hotel Apolonia Palace will cost more - from 70 euros per night.

The southernmost resort in Bulgaria (according to travel agencies)

Travel agencies in the list of the most southern Bulgarian resorts are usually called Ahtopol. The distance from its center to the Turkish-Bulgarian border is no more than 15 kilometers, and here, as in Sinemorets, the beach season comes into its own before anyone else in the country.

Ahtopol beach stretches for several kilometers to the north of the town, and the farthest part of it is given to nudists. In general, there are not too many tourists in Ahtopol, and therefore fans of a quiet, relaxing holiday without noisy parties in dance clubs and entertainment events like to come here. The lack of social life in this resort is compensated by the beautiful views of the sea, especially at dawn, and the ideal climate. You can start sunbathing and swimming in comfort on the beach of Ahtopol already on May holidays, and by the first days of June the water and air are steadily warming up to + 20 ° С and + 26 ° С, respectively.

Useful information:

  • The airport closest to the southernmost Bulgarian resorts is located in Burgas. The distance from the passenger terminal to the beaches of Ahtopol and Sinemorets is about 90 kilometers.
  • Direct regular flights from Moscow to Sarafovo airport are operated by both Bulgarian airlines and Yamal Airlines and S7. High season tickets cost € 220 or more. A charter flight will cost significantly less. Travel time - 3.5 hours.
  • You can get from the airport to the center of Burgas by bus N15 or taxi. For a trip by cars of the Eco-Taxi company you will be asked about 10 euros.
  • Buses, taxis and minibuses run regularly from the Burgas bus station towards the southern beach resorts. You will have to spend about an hour on the road.

Not a single beach

The southern region of Bulgaria is very beautiful, and tourists who come here take advantage of the opportunity not only to enjoy the sea and the sun, but also to take walks in the national parks "Strandzha" and "Ropotamo". The first is famous for its fauna, which is represented on the territory of the reserve by more than a hundred rare species. The trees in the forests of the Strandzha National Park are several centuries old. In addition to nature in the reserve, guests are also interested in the performances of local dancers. The famous Nestinar dances are performed on hot coals.

In "Ropotamo" travelers have the opportunity to get acquainted with rare birds that live in coastal backwaters. Excursions are carried out on a water tram and from the sea to the surrounding cliffs, very impressive views open up. The price of the issue is about 4 euros.
