Geographically, the southernmost beach point of our country is Adler. This village is one of the urban areas of Greater Sochi and stretches along the Black Sea coast for as much as 17 kilometers to the very Russian-Abkhaz border:

  • There is an airport in Adler that receives several charter flights from different cities of Russia every day during the high season. Regular flights to Adler are operated by Aeroflot, Red Wings Airlines, S7, VIM Airlines and do not depend on the season. The cost of tickets in the summer starts from 5500 rubles in both directions. A direct flight takes approximately 2.5 hours.
  • You can get from the airport to the selected hotel by taxi, ordering it by phone or the Internet and paying 300-350 rubles. Taxi drivers who grab customers right in the arrivals hall usually call inadequate amounts and it is better to politely ignore them.
  • Trains run to Adler from both Moscow and St. Petersburg. You will have to spend at least 36 hours on the way, paying about 2,000 rubles for a seat in the reserved seat in each direction.
  • You can get to Sochi from the southernmost resort in Russia by bus 105.

Adler's climate is classic subtropical humid. The sea takes an active part in shaping the weather in the region, not allowing the air to cool quickly, but also preventing the mercury columns of thermometers from rising too high. Summer begins at the resort at the end of April and lasts until the first days of November. At the height of the season, the air and water temperatures are kept at + 28 ° С and + 24 ° С, respectively. You can swim comfortably in the sea in the Adler region until the last days of October.

The beaches of the southernmost Russian resort

Adler beaches are classified as small-pebble or sand-pebble. The entrance to the sea along the entire coastal strip is very shallow, and therefore the beaches of Adler are recommended for families with children.

An important plus in favor of rest in this area of Sochi is the cleanliness of the sea coast. The beaches are carefully looked after, but the entrance to them remains free. The only exception is the coastal areas belonging to sanatoriums and recreation centers. You will be allowed to visit these beaches, but you will have to pay to enter.

What where When?

The considerable territory of Adler is divided into districts, each of which is of interest in connection with the existing tourist infrastructure facilities there:

  • The main enterprises of the service and entertainment sector are concentrated in the city center.
  • In Kurortny Gorodok, most of the Adler boarding houses have been built. Here, guests can enjoy not only numerous cafes and shops, but also a water park with a dolphinarium.
  • It is best to look for inexpensive housing in Chkalovo. If you do not want to spend too much money on renting an apartment and are ready to close your eyes to the lack of European-quality renovation, this is the place for you!

The rest of Adler's districts do not have direct access to the sea and are located quite far from the beaches. But it is in Golubye Daly, Moldovka, Blinovo and Mirny that the cheapest apartments and rooms are offered to tourists even in high season. If you are not intimidated by the daily prospect of passing several stops on public transport to get to the sea and back, look for accommodation here.

You can dine inexpensively at the southernmost resort of Russia in classic dining rooms reminiscent of Soviet resort realities and times. The average bill in such an establishment will be 300-400 rubles. A meal in a cafe with waiters will cost one and a half to two times more. Restaurants in their classic form in Adler are quite expensive, and for a dinner for two with wine and hot you will have to pay at least 3000 rubles.

Not a single beach

Active entertainment at the southernmost Russian resort is more than enough for all guests. The 2014 Olympic Games significantly modernized the local tourism sector, and today the most modern amusement parks of the European and world level are open in Adler.

Sochi Park is a theme park designed in Russian folk style and offering entertainment not only to children, but also to their parents. The feature of the park is gravity slides, the acceleration speed of which reaches hundreds of kilometers per hour.

Aquapark "Amfibius" welcomes fans of water entertainment every day from the first days of June. There are three swimming pools in the park, five rides with slides, and several cafes and grill bars will help the regulars who are accustomed to spend time in the water park until closing time.

If you like beautiful landscapes, the Ferris wheel in Primorsky Park is your choice. From a bird's eye view, an amazing panorama of Adler and the adjacent districts of Greater Sochi opens up.

The resort also has its own "Aquatoria" dolphinarium and the Sochi Discovery World Aquarium - the largest on the Black Sea coast of our country.

You can see with your own eyes the famous slopes of the Rosa Khutor ski resort in summer. The cable car works at any time of the year, and it is especially pleasant and useful to walk through the forests that cover the slopes of the Caucasus on a hot July day.

If you love rare plants and prefer walking in botanical gardens to all other excursions, be sure to visit the Adler Arboretum. It is called "Southern Cultures" and a unique live collection of rare and exotic plants from all over the world is gathered on its shady alleys.
