In the first place among the guests from the east are the Spanish resorts located on the seashore. But how to choose whether Alicante or Valencia are more attractive and for what positions?

In order to decide which of the resorts will become a summer holiday destination, it is enough to analyze the most important components - beaches, restaurants, monuments, sports or cultural events.

Alicante or Valencia - where is the best beach?

We can say that the beaches of Alicante smoothly merge into one another, each of them has its own names, but there is no clear border between the territories. The beaches are sandy, many of them marked with the famous symbol of cleanliness. Blue flag of UNESCO. The infrastructure is well-developed, you can rent sun loungers and sun loungers, or, conversely, spend the day actively, kiting, surfing or just riding catamarans and light sailboats.

Valencia has two virtues - a local football club and endless streaks of white beaches. This is what ensures a constant influx of tourists in the summer, who are pleased with the moment that gorgeous beaches are located both in the city itself and in its environs. Many of the Costa Blanca's coastal areas are decorated with Blue Flags, witnessing clear waters.

Cuisine and restaurants

People of many nationalities live in Alicante, which influenced the development of local cuisine. On the territory of the resort you can find establishments that offer dishes from different countries and peoples. Tourists prefer well-known fish restaurants, which serve amazingly delicious dishes from freshly caught fish and seafood.

Valencia is the birthplace of paella, and this is what tourists need to remember when arriving here on vacation. They have a unique opportunity to try a variety of recipes for this dish and find a restaurant with the most delicious paella. This city also has its own specialty drinks - horchata, made from tiger nuts, and "Valencia Water", with which you need to be very careful, as it is a mixture of wine with orange juice.

Entertainment

During the high season, a huge number of holidays are organized in Alicante, most of them are held in the central part of the city, gathering many locals and guests. And the most memorable event in June is the "Night of Fire", when first a huge doll is burned on the main square, and then bonfires appear in different parts of the resort.

Among the entertainment in Valencia, the Albufera National Park is especially popular with tourists. In this beautiful place, you can spend a whole day enjoying the beauty of nature, having a picnic in the fresh air or going to an eel tasting served with stewed potatoes.

The main holiday of the summer season is the so-called July Fair, when all events are associated with flowers. The culmination of this festival is a kind of fireworks made of carnations, when for an hour you can watch thousands of carnations, earthly stars, decorate the night sky of Valencia.

sights

The long history of Alicante allows us to trace how architectural styles replaced each other. Among the masterpieces of urban architecture, you can see representatives of the Romanesque and Greek styles, gothic buildings directed upwards and luxuriously decorated structures in the Moorish style. The following interesting sights can be noted: the Basilica of Santa Maria, which combines elements of Gothic and Baroque; Museum of La Acegurada; Fortress of St. Barbara, the visiting card of the resort.

Visitors to Alicante love walking along the boulevard, which consists of millions of stones that create a beautiful, unique pattern. Walking along this boulevard is also pleasant because palm trees are planted along it in several rows, creating a shade.

Valencia is ready to compete with Alicante in terms of the number of architectural and historical attractions. It is best to start your journey into history from the center of the Old Town, which is located on the square of the Holy Virgin Mary. Among the masterpieces of local architecture, tourists highlight the basilica. Consecrated in honor of the Virgin Mary, the Serranos towers and the huge, as it should be, the statue of Gulliver, which is located in the park of Turia.
