Contrary to the opinion that "Bulgaria is not abroad" that existed in Soviet times, tours to the brotherly country are still popular with the Russian traveler. The local resorts offer an inexpensive vacation by the sea, excellent solid cuisine, a variety of entertainment and a memorable excursion program. Both couples and student companies are in a hurry for summer holidays in Bulgaria, and the holidays spent in children's health camps guarantee the younger generation a sea of sun, fruits and a good company of like-minded people from around the world.
On the merits of the Bulgarian resorts
Despite the need to obtain a visa, Russian travelers are choosing Bulgaria as their vacation destination more and more often. The reasons are obvious even for a person who is not too familiar with the intricacies of the tourism business:
- Prices for vouchers to Bulgarian resorts still do not seek to surpass the cost of travel to exotic distant countries and even to neighboring European states.
- Although most of the hotels in Bulgaria were built many years ago, they are regularly reconstructed and refurbished. New hotels can boast of a large number of stars on the facade, and the necessary set of services corresponding to the level of the "resort average".
- You can also rent an apartment or a room from local residents in Bulgaria for a vacation. The price of the question will pleasantly surprise and seem to be a particularly profitable option for a large family or a group of friends.
- The quality of food in local restaurants will suit even the most discerning tourist, and the local menu will suit fans of vegetarian food, meat eaters, and those with a sweet tooth.
- The flight to the Bulgarian resorts takes about three hours from the capital of Russia, and the weather does not require long acclimatization.
The absence of a language barrier will also be an undoubted advantage. The Bulgarian language is quite understandable for Russian tourists.
About beaches
The length of the country's sea coast is more than 300 km and almost all of this strip is made up of sandy beaches. A visit to any of them is absolutely free, but you will have to pay a few leva for renting an umbrella or sun lounger. Most of the beaches have a prestigious European award - the Blue Flag certificate, awarded for cleanliness and compliance with environmental standards.
The most suitable place for youth recreation are large resorts. The rating is topped by Varna, Golden Sands and Sunny Beach. Lovers of solitude and silence will like Sozopol, Tsarevo or Kiten more.
The first sunbathers arrive for summer holidays in Bulgaria at the end of May, but the local beaches are finally filled with people by mid-June. The sea warms up at the height of summer to + 26 ° С, and remains very warm until the second half of October. The air temperature in July-August often exceeds + 30 ° C, but the abundance of greenery on the seashore and fresh breezes create a very comfortable atmosphere and allow you to sunbathe throughout the day.
Summer vacation with children in Bulgaria
The warmest sea in the country is in the Obzor resort, where it is especially comfortable to relax with small children. Young travelers will also like the coast in the Sunny Beach region, where the entrance to the sea is gentle and the water warms up to pleasant temperatures at the beginning of the swimming season.
Many Bulgarian resorts have children's playgrounds and special safe swimming pools and water slides.
Water parks in Bulgaria are located in Golden Sands and Sunny Beach, in Nessebar and Primorsko, Elenite and Blagoevgrad. They are equipped with comfortable changing rooms, and in the children's cafes you can have a delicious lunch and enjoy desserts and fresh fruits. Each offers its guests a variety of attractions, slides of any complexity, seawater pools, waterfalls and dozens of other entertainments.
Any child will be delighted with visiting the dolphinarium, zoo or aquarium. Varna, for example, has all of the above, and in terms of the number of visitors, these objects invariably lead the list of the most popular attractions. Choosing what to visit in the city on your own, give your kid a sea of delight from communicating with animals and take a photo as a souvenir of swimming with dolphins or a tour of the zoo.
