Few cities can compare with the Austrian capital in terms of the number of centuries lived, it is not equal to it and in the number of preserved historical monuments. Walks around Vienna are every second discoveries and meetings with familiar historical characters, chic architectural creations, enchanting aromas of coffee and cinnamon.

Walking around Vienna by tourist transport

Like many cities in the world, beautiful Vienna also has its own tourist bus. This type of transport is easily recognized by the combination of two bright colors - yellow and green. Buses can have one or two floors. It is clear that guests of the capital prefer two-story ones, because a view from a height will give a lot more emotions and impressions.

Each seat on the bus is provided with an audio guide, the choice of language is up to the tourist. Convenience lies in the fact that you can get off at stops and go in for at least a day, at least two (the difference in cost is quite small).

For the past twenty years, there has been a tourist tram in Vienna that works on the same principle. The trip is carried out along a specific route, where you can see the main attractions of the capital of Austria and listen to a story about them using the audio guide.

Vienna attractions

The list is quite impressive, even if a tourist has a week left, he will have to move very quickly. In the list of the most interesting places in the Austrian capital, you can find:

  • the symbol of the city is the famous Vienna Opera, which operates almost seven days a week;
  • St. Stephen's Cathedral, another symbol not only of the capital, but also of the country, the most popular type in souvenir production, replicated on postcards and magnets;
  • Vienna City Hall, a stronghold of city power and independence.

A special route in Vienna can be devoted to palaces, of which there are a sufficient number. First of all, tourists rush to see the residence of the Habsburg imperial family - the Hofburg. The second place on the list is the Belvedere Palace, a chic architectural complex, a monument of the Baroque era. Another palace complex in the Baroque style is Schönbrunn, which was also owned by the Habsburgs. The highlight of this place is that the city zoo is located here, it is the oldest institution of this type in Europe.

Many guests of the capital prefer walking around Vienna, without a plan and route, focusing only on the aroma of coffee and apple strudel.
