The Kuban and southern capitals of Russia are the unofficial names of Krasnodar, a large economic and cultural center of the country's southern federal district. The city was founded by the Black Sea Cossacks on the banks of the Kuban River in 1793 and was named Yekaterinodar in honor of the Empress who gave them land in these parts.
Its residents call the embankment of Krasnodar the section of the Kuban coast between Turgenev and Lenin streets and the park of the 30th anniversary of Victory, located on a peninsula protruding into the river.
From Zaton to the city garden
The Park of the 30th Anniversary of Victory today is the most popular recreation place for Krasnodar residents. It appeared on the city map in 1975 for the thirtieth anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, but work on clearing the area in the Zaton area on the outskirts began in the 60s of the last century. The whole of Krasnodar took part in communist subbotniks, and the embankment in the beautiful park became its rightful pride.
The area of the park is more than 57 hectares, and in addition to green spaces and magnificent views of the Kuban River, comfortable beaches, two dozen attractions for every taste and a military-technical museum await its visitors. The gate to Adygea
The banks of the Kuban river are connected by the Turgenevsky bridge, under which the Kubanskaya embankment street in Krasnodar runs.
The construction of the crossing began in 1978 and lasted for almost eight years. Freight and passenger traffic between the region and the Republic of Adygea is carried out along the bridge, because the border between them runs right along the river. At night, the bridge is illuminated by LED floodlights operating in 16 color modes.
