The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan is located at the confluence of the Kazanka River with the Volga. It was here in the 12th century that the first Kazan Kremlin appeared - a fortified settlement, which was then rebuilt many times. The modern architectural complex of the Kremlin overlooks the Kazan embankment and is a series of churches and chambers of great cultural and historical value and protected by UNESCO in the World Heritage List.

The project for the improvement of the Kazanskaya embankment was born before the Universiade-2013 in the capital of Tatarstan. It was decided to improve and expand the coastline, create a walking area that would please both active youth and older residents.
Today, the Kazanka embankment is asphalted and in summer you can meet young mothers with children, fans of a healthy lifestyle, roller skaters and cyclists, romantic couples and groups of admiring tourists.
The embankment offers an excellent view of the Millennium Bridge, built to the millennium of the city. This construction is considered extreme by car enthusiasts in winter. Frost and rainfall is causing the Millennium's slightly sloped asphalt pavement to freeze. In the summer, the bridge was chosen by jumpers having fun with bungee flights.
Winter fun
Before the New Year holidays, the embankment in Kazan is transformed and turns into a fabulous city. Children from the capital and their parents love walking here for several reasons:
- A skating rink is poured on the embankment, the length of which is about a kilometer. To services of visitors - equipment rental, changing rooms and musical accompaniment.
- The smallest visitors to the Winter Town on the embankment enjoy a ride on the Italian train and the French carousel.

On the Kazan embankment there is the National Cultural Center of the same name, faced with red stone. Its tall column serves as a reference point for tourists wishing to visit the city's Millennium Museum. It is located in a memorial erected once in honor of the anniversary of the October Revolution. The column is crowned with a symbol of freedom - a rotating sculpture of the winged woman Hariyat.
