Public transport
Traffic on the territory of the country is right-hand. At the same time, road signs do not differ from those adopted in Russia. The road surface is in fair condition. All in all, the length of roads in the country is a little more than 51.5 thousand kilometers.
The most convenient way to travel around the country is to use your own vehicle. But if there is none, then you can use buses or trains. At the same time, travel will not cost too much. But you need to remember, choosing the option with a bus, that most of the cars are quite outdated.
There is a metro only in Minsk. This is a very convenient way to get around the city. Trains leave the stations every three minutes on average. The metro has only two lines that intersect at Oktyabrskaya station. You will need a special token to get through. You will leave it at the entrance to the metro at a special gate.
There is a toll highway on the territory of the country. It is the only one and connects Brest with Moscow. The fee is a dollar for cars and $ 15 for heavy vehicles.
If you wish, you can use a taxi service. The car can be caught on the street, or called by phone. Official taxis have meters, so make sure the driver turns them on when boarding. But you can just agree on the price of the trip in advance.
There are several large rivers in the country that are navigable. These are Pripyat, Dnieper, Berezina, Sozhu and Dnieper-Bug canal.
Air transport
The main airport complexes of Belarus are: Minsk - 2 (National airport located in the capital of the country); Minsk - 1; Brest airport; Vitebsk; Gomel; Grodno; Mogilevsky.
The official air carrier of the country is Belavia. In addition to it, Transaviaexport and Gomelavia airlines operate in the country.
Railway transport
The railway network covers the entire country. Transportation is carried out by the state company "Belarusian Railways". It is this carrier that performs more than half of all passenger traffic in the country.
Car rental
If you wish, you can rent a car. To do this, you must be over 21 years old and your driving experience at the time of application must be more than two years. You can pay for car rental either in cash or by credit card.
