A trip to Poland is a rather exciting journey, it is especially interesting just to wander around the city where you arrived. Or go on an independent trip around the country. But in any case, you need to know how and what is most convenient to move around.

Public transport of the country

Buses in Poland run short distances, most often only within the city. But sometimes you can take a long-distance trip by bus.

You can get around the capital of the country using buses, trams and metro. You can buy tickets at any of the kiosks or at the metro station. You can also buy a ticket from the driver, but it will cost a little more.

Tickets must be validated on buses and trams. In the metro, tickets must also be punched in special machines that can be found at any exit to the platform.

Other Polish cities will only be able to offer tram and bus rides.

Taxi

Taxis are very popular. The car can be caught or ordered by calling. In this case, you will even be given a small discount on the cost of your trip. Transportation is paid at two rates: day and night. The latter is much more expensive. There is also a tariff for country trips and weekends. If there is no meter in the car, then the cost must be agreed in advance.

Air transport

The local airline allows flights to many cities, but any route always starts from Warsaw Airport. There are also routes between provincial cities, but landing at the Warsaw airport is compulsory. There are several daily flights to all available destinations.

Railway transport

It is railway transport that is the main way of moving around the country, if you need to move between two cities. But it should be borne in mind that in the eastern direction, trains do not run very often.

Polish Railways offer several types of trains, and therefore the cost of travel may vary and depends on the type of train. But there are a number of special rates. For example, you can buy very cheap tickets on express trains running between provincial cities. The cost of the trip can cost as little as 11 zlotys, but on condition that there are unoccupied seats on the train half an hour before departure.

With a discount, you can travel on holidays and weekends. At the same time, there is a fixed price: PLN 99 for the "second" class and 149 for the "first". At the same time, you do not need to order tickets in advance.
