Russians have already chosen Egyptian resorts for a long time and are happy to place the country all year round. But a comfortable trip to Egypt will only be if you know what to travel around the country on.
Railway
The main railway junction of the country is Cairo, where the main station of the whole of Egypt - Ramses is located. Passenger trains leave from here both to the northern and southern parts of the country.
Trains that run on Egyptian railways have three comfort categories:
- Turbini;
- Express;
-
Ordinary
First and second class carriages are available exclusively on the Turbini and Express trains. In first class, a compartment for two with personal air conditioning awaits you. Second class - this also offers air conditioning, but this is a common carriage with ordinary soft seats.
Ordinary is the third class, reminiscent of our electric trains. It is used exclusively by the local poor. Moreover, the cars of this class are always overcrowded.
Buses
The bus is the most common and cheapest way to travel around the country. There are bus routes to almost all cities in the country.
Modern buses run between cities. That being said, they are pretty well equipped. They have a TV, air conditioning, and the trip itself takes place in comfortable soft seats. The bus itself has a toilet and a buffet.
Cars
The roads in Egypt are of excellent quality. Sections of the road, where a one-way type of traffic is provided, allows speeds up to 120 km / h. Since the country simply bathes in the sun, its rays are used to recharge solar panels. It is this energy that goes to the night illumination of road signs in the most important sections of the highway, so you will not be able to miss the sign of a dangerous turn or the next exit to the highway.
It is important to remember that one-way traffic is accepted in the country, therefore signs are made in accordance with this feature. But obeying the rules is not about Egyptian drivers.
Our compatriots face particular difficulties on roundabout roads. In Egypt, the main thing is precisely the circular movement and cars leaving the adjacent highways must pass cars moving in a circle.
In this case, if you can't make the maneuver, you should use the following trick. Show drivers pinched fingers pointing up. This gesture means the following: “Don't rush, I'm in a hurry. If you are not in a hurry, then let it go."
River and sea transport
There is no communication along the Nile between the cities of the country. The only thing they can offer you is a cruise ship equipped in a five-star hotel. In Cairo, you can dine at such a floating restaurant.
You can travel from Hurghada directly to Sharm El Sheikh by fast ferry. And it will not be superfluous to know that between the ports of the country located in the Mediterranean Sea, there is no regular sea communication with other countries.
