History

At the same time, regular flights began from the airport in Eilat to Lod airport. Until the beginning of the 50s, the main air carriers were Aviron and Ilta, and since 1950, the Israeli airline Arkia began to carry out all regular passenger traffic.
The dawn of the airline came in the 60s, when, after a large-scale reconstruction of the runway and the passenger terminal, the geography of flights expanded and the flow of passengers increased.
In 1969, the airport's runway was extended. And in 1975 the airport received the first international flight from Denmark, operated by Sterling Airlines. Since that time, international flights to Eilat have become regular.
