Khrabrovo is an airport in Kaliningrad, located twenty kilometers south-east of the central part of the city, near the village of Khrabrovo, from which it received its modern name.
The airport has a runway 2.5 kilometers long and 45 meters wide.
The powerful runway coverage allows to receive wide-body aircraft with a take-off weight of up to one hundred tons, such as Boeings - 747, 757 and others.
In addition to civil aviation, the airport in Kaliningrad is used by the aviation units of the RF Ministry of Defense, units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Federal Security Service of Russia.
History
The first airport in Kaliningrad (then Königsberg) was formed on the basis of the joint Russian-German airline Derulyuft in 1922. At the same time, the first civil flights in the history of the Soviet Union were made on the Konigsberg - Moscow route.
In 1945 the airport became the property of the civil aviation of the USSR. In the mid-50s, the airline was relocated to the village of Khrabrovo, and in 1961 a united aviation squadron was formed on the basis of the airport.
In 1989, the airport, which was able to serve more than three million passengers a year, received international status.
In October 2007, a new runway and the first line of the air terminal complex in Khrabrovo were put into operation. Such well-known airlines as Aeroflot, AirBaltic, S7, Russia, Uzbekistan AirWays, UTair, and others open their offices here. And also the CIS airlines - SkyExpress, AviaNova, Gomelavia, Nordavia, Ak Bars Aero Belavia and Orenburg airlines receive support and cooperation.
In the future, it is planned to create a hub for Russian and foreign air carriers on the basis of the Kaliningrad airport.

Like most international airports, the airport in Kaliningrad provides all the conditions for comfortable travel and recreation of passengers. A cozy hotel on the territory of the airport, a mother and child room, numerous cafes, a restaurant, an arcade of shops are at the service of those arriving.
A first-aid post, currency exchange offices, post office, internet cafe, information desk work around the clock. A conference hall and a meeting room are equipped for VIP passengers.
Transport
Bus No. 138 runs from the airport to the city on a regular basis once an hour on the route "Airport - Yuzhny railway station". The movement starts at 08.00 am and ends at 23.00.
Minibuses follow the same route. You can also use a taxi service.
