Description of the attraction
One of the symbols of Orenburg is a pedestrian bridge across the Ural River. The Ural River symbolically divides the city into Europe and Asia, as evidenced by the stele in the middle of the bridge. So, passing half of the bridge in Europe, you suddenly find yourself in Asia. The bridge offers beautiful views of the picturesque banks of the Urals. Thanks to the previous and current authorities, which banned the construction of houses in the coastal zone, the banks of the historic river have retained their original appearance.
On the Asian side of the bridge is the Trans-Ural Grove with shady trees and coastal landscapes. On the European side, there is a favorite place for recreation and walks of the townspeople - the Orenburg embankment. From the bridge there is a staircase descent to the river, a favorite place for children in the summer.
In front of the entrance to the Orenburg embankment there is a monument to Chkalov (earlier the city was briefly renamed Chkalovsk) on a spacious observation deck with decorative railings. On a small, cozy embankment, there are summer cafeterias, a small park with benches and a children's railway. Nearby, the Elizabethan Gate to Asia is installed, a cable car passes and the Museum of the History of the City rises in the building of the former Guardhouse.
In the dark, the suspension bridge and the embankment are illuminated with bright lights, making one of the main attractions of the city of Orenburg unforgettable.
