The museum of the underground partisan movement in Nikolayevshchina was founded in 1975 in the house where in 1941-1943. lived Hero of the Soviet Union Viktor Lyagin, who was also the head of the Nikolaev underground resistance center during the Second World War. The museum is located on Lyagin Street, 5.
The ancient building of the late 19th century, which houses the museum today, is a local historical and architectural monument, which is subordinate to the Nikolaev Regional Museum of Local Lore. The exposition of the Museum of the underground partisan movement in Nikolayevshchina is located in one hall, its exposition reveals the main stages of the Great Patriotic War that took place in Nikolayevshchina in the period from 1941 to 1944.
The Museum of the Underground Partisan Movement has a unique collection of Soviet and German small arms from the Second World War, posters from this period of history, as well as a video library of Soviet and German military newsreels. The museum also presents a number of exhibition projects dedicated to the political history of the country in the 30-50s. XX century, which were kept in secret archival funds for many years.
