Description of the attraction
The Hobart Aquatics Center, which cost $ 17 million to build, is located about a kilometer from downtown Hobart. This is where the Australian Swimming Championships, the Tasmanian Swimming Championships, the Pacific Games and various international championships have been held. In the first years of its existence, the same center hosted competitions in water polo, diving, water hockey.
All areas of the center are located under the roof. Inside there is a 50 meter Olympic swimming pool with 8 lanes, a 25 meter heated pool, a swimming pool and a 20 x 20 meter diving pool. The diving tower has three platforms located at heights of 5, 7, 5 and 10 meters, as well as one- and three-meter diving boards.
In addition, the center has a children's and gymnasium and opportunities for many sports - from swimming, water flooring and diving to yoga, aerobics, strength training, etc.
The area surrounding the center offers views of the Derwent River, Mount Wellington and Hobart.
