Description of the attraction
Sharjah Desert Park is a unique wildlife park-museum. It is located 28 kilometers from the city. The total area of this corner of wildlife is one square kilometer. The Desert Park was established in 1995. The main purpose of its foundation is to protect the endangered species of animals that live in this halo.
There are several educational centers in the park: a botanical museum, a natural history museum, a children's farm, a wildlife center in Arabia and a breeding center. A visit to the Natural History Museum reveals many interesting facts about the natural history of the region. The museum has recreated ecosystems of deserts and seas, here you can see prehistoric fossils and many other unique exhibits. In total, there are five thematic expositions, namely: "Life on Earth", "Life in the Desert", "Life at Sea", "Travel in Sharjah" and "Travel in Time".
The Arabian Wildlife Center is a zoo where selected representatives of the fauna of the region are collected: the Arabian leopard, sand cat, hyenas, camel spider, baboons and poisonous snakes. In total, about 100 species of animals live in the center. Younger visitors will have a great time visiting the Children's Farm, where they can get to know the local animals better.
Today, the Sharjah Desert Park is a favorite vacation spot not only for tourists, but also for locals. All the necessary conditions for a wonderful holiday have been created on its territory. There are specially designated picnic areas, several cozy cafeterias and shops where you can buy souvenirs.
