Description of the attraction
The bird park is considered one of the most visited places by tourists in Bali, because Indonesia is famous for its flora and fauna. The park is located in Gianyar District, which is located northeast of Denpasar, and covers an area of 20,000 square meters.
This amazing place is home to over 5,000 individuals representing over 200 species of birds. Among the feathered inhabitants of the park, there are bird species that live not only in the Indonesia archipelago, but also in South Africa and South America.
Perhaps the most popular bird that attracts the most attention is the Balinese starling or Balinese myna. The Bali Starling is completely white, with dark feather tips and a bluish ring around the eyes, found only in the northwest of Bali. The starling inhabited a strip of forests along the coast, but deforestation, mass capture and export of starlings led to a decrease in the number of these beautiful birds. Since 1970, the Balinese starling has been declared a protected species.
The park is home to pink flamingos, ibises, peacocks, parrots and birds of paradise. The birds are practically tame, it is possible to hold them in your arms and take pictures, as well as feed them, but only with the permission of the park staff. The most comfortable conditions have been created for birds - if not absent in most aviaries, then they are practically invisible. And in order to recreate the natural habitat, plants from the homeland of birds are planted in the park.
