Description of the attraction
On the banks of the picturesque Syamozero in South Karelia, there is a one-of-a-kind unique Zoo complex "Three Bears". The work of the zoo complex began in 2004. It differs from ordinary zoos in that it is located in a Karelian forest 60 km from the city of Petrozavodsk. The territory of the zoo complex includes an area of 3 hectares in an untouched wild forest. Here animals live in pens and cages, although they are in the natural conditions of the Karelian forest reserve. In addition, all animals receive fast qualified medical assistance, as well as real and sincere care of employees and people in love with their work.
Extremely weakened animals and young animals of various animals (most often bears), left without a mother, enter the zoo complex "Three Bears". There are also situations when an animal comes here as a result of an accident or hunting lawlessness and lawlessness. Situations are especially common when ruthless hunters kill female bears, whose young cubs are annually taken to the zoo. The cubs grow up and constantly communicate with people, for this reason they are not afraid to take food from their hands. Adults and children who come to the zoo complex for the first time receive a very powerful charge of the most joyful and positive emotions, as well as indescribable pleasure from communicating with cheerful and friendly animals. It is for this reason that the zoo complex has its second name - Soul Healing.
All animals are in spacious enclosures, and some of them can even walk freely. It is clear that this happens infrequently, most often at a time when there are no visitors on the territory of the zoo. The inhabitants of the enclosures include: moose, bears, lynxes, wolves, chinchillas, raccoons, polar foxes, ferrets and raccoon dogs. As in all zoos, kids are the most common visitors at the Three Bears zoo complex. And this is understandable, because most of the animals are practically in natural habitat, especially since they are perfectly fed here and regularly monitor the cleanliness of their content. For these reasons, all animals are especially agile, playful and cheerful. It is possible to feed the animals on your own, if you first bring suitable food with you: salt, sugar, carrots or cabbage. An experienced guide will always tell you what can and cannot be fed to animals. The visitors of the complex are especially delighted by raccoons, from which one cannot expect monkey behavior, because they are very curious and tirelessly play and climb everywhere. A considerable number of people also love bears, because there are few places where you can look at these impressive animals so closely.
Zoo complex "Three Bears" is a scientific and exhibition ecological complex, and its task is not to constantly invade the wild, but to provide an opportunity to explore and see all the charm of the Karelian forest and its various inhabitants to all residents and guests of the Karelian Republic. On the basis of the zoo complex, it is possible to conduct environmental education of children and youth, as well as monitor the natural environment and various representatives of the forest wild fauna. "Three Bears" have the ability to protect and track the reproduction of flora and fauna, to carry out biotechnical, regulatory and forestry activities. The indisputable value of the work carried out is the preservation of the overall integrity, as well as the ecological balance of natural complexes of the natural habitat of representatives of the wild animal world.
On the territory of the zoo complex there are: a cottage on the shore of a beautiful lake, a cafe, a sandy beach, gazebos with the possibility of using a fire, a bathhouse on the shore of the lake. In addition, in the area of the complex there is a Berendey tree, which is the kind spirit of the zoo complex.
