Description of the attraction
Tuan Chau Island is considered the best seaside resort in Halong Bay. Halong Bay is not only a first-class modern resort, but also a rare natural wonder, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. More than three thousand islands of the bay, as well as rocks and cliffs, grottoes and caves form a landscape of extraordinary beauty, one of a kind on the planet.
The most popular island is Tuan Chau. Apart from its recreational appeal, the island has a rich history. Tuan Chau is the only earthen island in the bay and was inhabited thousands of years ago. This is evidenced by the fragments of the most ancient structures of the Halong culture found by archaeologists, aged from three to five millennia. In the Middle Ages, the island was used as a sentry - to protect the bay from uninvited guests from the sea. He later served as a military and customs post. In the post-war period, Ho Chi Minh liked to rest on the island; his residence remained here.
The impetus for the development of the island's infrastructure and turning it into a tourist attraction was the construction of a bridge from the mainland in the early 2000s.
Today Tuan Chau is known for its beautiful tropical forests and white sand beaches. From anywhere on the island, you can admire the unearthly landscapes of the bay. The dolphinarium organizes permanent shows with dolphins and seals. For golfers, there is a park with manicured lawns. Diving enthusiasts will find the diverse underwater world of the bay. A musical fountain with laser illumination is recognized as the favorite entertainment of the guests of the island.
