Description of the attraction
Among the numerous and entertaining museums of the city of Astana, a special place is occupied by the museum of the country's recent history - the Museum of the first president of Kazakhstan - Nursultan Nazarbayev. It is located on Beybitshilik Street in the former building of the Residence of the Head of State. The grand opening of the museum took place in 2005.
Today, the Museum of the First President of Kazakhstan contains about 35,400 exhibits, including the electronic archive fund of 24,734 items, the library fund - 1,770 copies of books and printed publications, the museum collection - over 8,900 items.
The museum presents unique archival scientific works and documents, collections of books and gifts, awards and other items that are directly related to the history of the modern state, illustrating the activities of the first Kazakh president. Unique interiors, decoration items that make up a single complex have been preserved to this day in their original form.
Presidential awards are the real pride of the museum. This collection contains awards from the USSR and independent Kazakhstan, as well as from many other states and international organizations. Inevitable interest is aroused by unique books presented to the President, autographed by prominent personalities of our time.
In addition, the museum regularly hosts various cultural events, art and craft exhibitions. Tours in the museum are conducted in Russian, Kazakh and English.
