Description of the attraction

In the village of Subich, not far from the town of Kamenets-Podolsk, there is a very famous Rock Monastery. The monastery became famous at the beginning of the 16th century, but many historians say that it existed already in the 16th-18th centuries.

Here you can see several dozen cell-caves carved deep into the rock. The rock, in which all the caves are located, is located above the Dniester River. This Rocky Monastery is also called the "younger brother" of the Bakotsky Monastery. In our time, the caves were covered with rugs, canvases, embroidered by the hands of parishioners, photographs of ancient icons. Anyone here can pray.

The monastery is not very large and to see all its charms, you will need to walk along a very narrow path that descends from a 40-meter height down to the Dniester. It is worth noting that this road is not at all easy: you have to walk about 800 meters very carefully, but as a reward for this difficulty, a magnificent view of the Dniester reservoir opens up. On the way, you can also find springs from which the purest cool water gushes.

Every person who has visited this place definitely wants to return here, and residents, who are accustomed to a large number of tourists, are happy to welcome guests on the territory of the famous Rock Monastery.
