Description of the attraction
Pserimos is a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea (Dodecanese archipelago). It is located between the islands of Kalymnos and Kos. The Turkish coast is also not far from the island. The island of Pserimos belongs to the municipality of Kalymnos.
The small cozy island of Pserimos has only one settlement, which is located in a picturesque natural bay well protected from the winds. The relief of the island is predominantly mountainous. The area of Pserimos is about 15 square kilometers, and the number of permanent residents does not exceed 100 people. The main occupation of the local population is fishing, as well as work in the service sector of tourists coming to the island.
The magnificent local beach with fine sand and crystal-clear waters of the warm Aegean Sea attracts tourists to the island. Entry into the water is smooth, which is especially important if you are relaxing with children. The bay has a fairly well-equipped harbor where cruise ships, ferries, yachts and fishing boats dock.
Today, the island's tourist infrastructure is rather poorly developed. Therefore, most holidaymakers come here on a day trip and mainly from the nearby islands of Kos and Kalymnos. However, there is a small selection of apartments on the island for those wishing to stay in Pserimos. There are also several excellent taverns and cafes serving traditional Greek cuisine.
In general, the island of Pserimos is ideal for lovers of peace and quiet rest. You will find here the unique relaxing atmosphere of a secluded Greek island and the absence of unnecessary fuss.
