Description of the attraction
Fig Tree Cove (Fig Tree Cove), located on the territory of Protaras, is home to one of the best and most famous beaches not only of the city, but of the entire island. It is believed that this bay got its name thanks to a huge fig tree, or, as it is also called, a fig tree, which grew on this place several centuries ago.
On the north side of the beach there is a small rocky cove with a narrow sandy strip and many underwater caves that can be explored with special equipment. And right in the center of the bay there is a small island, thanks to which there are no big waves in the bay.
Many tourists love this place for the warm sea with a good bottom, clean white sand and a huge amount of entertainment for all tastes that can be found on the beach. It is well equipped, everyone is provided with sun loungers, and recently there have been many bars and restaurants on the coast, serving local cuisine.
Fans of outdoor activities have the opportunity to practice one of the many types of water and beach sports - tennis, volleyball, kayaking, sailing, jet skiing, skiing or boat trips, etc. Also, this beach is considered one of the best places for diving.
In addition, the bay is especially good for a family vacation - a rather shallow depth near the coast, the absence of strong waves and clear water are great for small children.
