Description of the attraction
The area of the Marmaris bay is three hundred and sixty-six square kilometers. Marina is hiding in the heart of Marmaris, in a very picturesque place. It is located at the northern end of the city's large bay, close to the green hillsides, at the confluence of two seas: the Aegean and the Mediterranean. The coastline is about thirty-four kilometers long. Marmaris is often called "Yacht Paradise". Netsel Marina is a kind of international yachting center on the Mediterranean coast of Turkey.
The seaport has about 3400 registered yachts, 640 of which are owned by foreign owners. The marina provides shelter for more than 750 yachts in any weather.
At the end of May, crews and captains come here to choose yachts and ships, which will then carry tourists throughout the season to all corners of the Mediterranean: Italy, Turkey and Greece. The International Yacht Festival, an international sailing festival, is held here. It takes place in mid-May, and at the end of October, the International Marmaris Yacht Races, an international sailing race, are held here for a whole week.
The only drawbacks are that there is very little space for repairs and parking on the shore, which makes it difficult to maneuver in the marina, and the water in the water area is not clean, so you definitely cannot swim. It is quite noisy at night and in the evening due to the proximity of the famous Bar Street.
Of course, Marina is good because it is located in the immediate vicinity of the city - you can walk to the center in ten minutes. It is located next to the promenade and is separated from it by a humpbacked pedestrian bridge.
People come here who have never seen a sailing yacht live in order to learn yachting. They are helped to acquire the necessary skills to sail a sailing yacht and to understand the poetry of the sea. For many people, this is a complete revolution in consciousness and the first step to a new page in their lives. There are three sailing schools based in Netsel Marina, two of which have been operating for a very long time: the American International Yachtmaster Training (IYT), which is represented by Gokova Yachting, and the British Royal Yachting Association (RYA), from Yuksel Yachting. The East Aegean Sea School, based on Phoenix Yachting, was recently opened. This school was created in cooperation with the leading school in the UK - East Anglian Sea School and certified by the Royal Yachting Association.
Netsel Marina has gained a lot of popularity thanks to its huge shopping centers. On its territory you can see many shops selling yachting equipment, boutiques with branded clothing, souvenir shops, markets, bars and luxury restaurants. Shops with yacht equipment are located close to Marina, in an area called Sariana.
