Myasnoy Bor is a village in the Novgorod region, known for the fact that in its vicinity, on a swampy, inaccessible area, which is now called Death Valley, in 1941-1942, about 300 thousand soldiers of the Red Army, Wehrmacht and the Blue Division, in which the Spaniards served, died. This is a terrible and mystical place of the battles of the Great Patriotic War.
Nowadays, pathfinders regularly work near Myasny Bor, whose task is to find the remains of soldiers and to bury them with due honors.
Forbidden place
Death Valley is notorious among the inhabitants of the surrounding villages. It is not customary to pick mushrooms and walk here. If they come here, then in company, so that it is not so scary. The person with the strongest nerves will feel anxiety and unclear danger in Myasnoy Bor. Impressionable people say they see ghosts.
There are other anomalies in Myasny Bor:
- there are no bird nests and burrows of small animals - it seems that all living things are avoiding a terrible place;
- sometimes search engines or simply lost tourists find themselves for some minutes in the middle of a battle in the early 40s - as in the film "We are from the Future";
- the long-dead Red Army soldiers suddenly begin to talk with quite mentally healthy people and even show where their remains can be found.
There are a lot of such stories about Myasny Bor.
Timeline and guest from the past
Chronomy is called quite real failures in the past or the future. It's like a mirage through time. In Myasnoy Bor, the time-mirage is witnessed by balanced search engines, who are difficult to suspect of spreading gossip and creating new myths.
So, one of them - a strong man, not inclined to reflection, looked alone at the excavation site late in the evening. Returning to camp, he fell back into the past and found himself in the middle of preparing for battle. There were people in military uniforms, armored vehicles, dugouts around. The search engine was not taken aback and continued on his way until he left the terrible forest directly to his comrades.
Another strange case in Myasny Bor was told by a girl who participated in the excavations. When she was working with the found remains of a soldier, a man in a military uniform approached her and began to point out where the dead might still be.
I must say that the guys from the search teams can dress up in historical costumes to feel the importance of the moment. However, when a man in a tunic pointed to the tree and said that his body was under it, the girl suspected something was wrong. She felt bad, and when she regained consciousness, the Red Army soldier was gone.
The guys from the detachment began to dig where the alien from the past indicated, and, indeed, found the remains of the fighters.
Artifact museum
Myasnoy Bor is supportive of the relatives of the dead soldiers and constantly throws them some amazing finds. There are legends about the artifacts of Myasny Bor.
Once a young lady, who came to Myasnoy Bor in search of the remains of her grandfather, dreamed of a living soldier who was in the excavation. He even talked to her, asked her what was the name of the soldier she was looking for, and then handed her a wooden, well-preserved spoon, on which was carved the name of her relative.
When the girl, clutching a spoon, came to her senses, she saw human bones and remnants of military uniforms in the dug hole. So Myasnoy Bor told her that she had found her grandfather after all.
Such stories often happen in Myasny Bor. The descendants of the soldiers who died here constantly stumble upon the personal belongings of their relatives. The local museum is dedicated to these artifacts.
Invisible guards
Death Valley is under the constant supervision of spirits that protect drivers passing here from dangers. There was a case when the ghost of a dead soldier woke up a dozing truck driver and thereby saved him from an accident. Moreover, the spirit not only spoke to the unfortunate driver, but also knocked him on the shoulder, attracting attention.
In general, spirits do not like the living to disturb their peace. Some time ago, through Myasnoy Bor, right at the place of terrible battles, they wanted to build a high-speed highway that would connect Moscow and St. Petersburg. This idea had to be abandoned when the spirits began to dream of all the officials who were responsible for the construction of the road.
Feed the ghost
Occasionally, ghost soldiers come to visit the villagers as neighbors. In 1975, late in the evening, when there was no light in the entire village, one such spirit looked into the house where a 10-year-old girl lived. Her parents were not at home that day, and a neighbor looked after the child.
When a Red Army man knocked on the house and asked for something edible, the girl did not suspect anything strange and brought the guy some bread. The soldier was surprised at the girl's generosity, took the treat and walked along the path, and then looked back. And at that moment, the baby realized that she was in front of a ghost, for the alien had no eyes.
While the child was coming to his senses, the soldier had already disappeared, as if he had not been there.
This same girl once again faced ghosts in her life. Together with her friends, she accidentally wandered into Death Valley and faced auditory hallucinations: she fancied shots and explosions.
Fascist revenge
Spirits often communicate something alive in dreams. So, the ghost of a German officer for a long time communicated with one "black" digger through a dream. The guy came to Myasnoy Bor for excavations and found a skeleton in the remains of a German uniform. With him there were some gizmos that were of certain interest to collectors. The most valuable find was the Luger pistol. The digger took all the artifacts, and threw the skeleton in the clearing.
Since then, a German began to come to the guy in his dreams, who in his own language demanded the burial of the remains. The "black" archaeologist kept dragging his feet on returning to Myasnoy Bor, and when he arrived there, he did not even look at the bones of a German found earlier.
The end of the story is sad: after a while the guy was shot from the very same Luger pistol. What it was - the revenge of a ghost or God's punishment, remained unknown.
