Description of the attraction

Morne National Park is the largest in the Seychelles. The coastline and beaches of Mahé are the island's most famous attraction, but the mountainous park is undoubtedly worth a visit.

The reserve with a total area of 3,045 hectares was established in 1979 and occupies more than 20% of the territory of the island of Mahe. It features a variety of habitats, from coastal mangrove forests to the country's highest peak, Morne Seychellos (905 m). The central part of the park, lost in a dense forest, is practically deserted.

The length of the park is about 10 kilometers, the width varies and in different areas ranges from 2 to 4 km. A whole network of spacious trails with a total length of more than 15 km has been laid for tourists. You can choose from 12 different routes, designed to explore the park for half a day or all day.

The park has beautiful landscapes, and some trails lead to the ruins of old distilleries and cinnamon factories, as well as the first missionary school for the children of freed slaves.
