Bangladesh: where is this “country of Bengalis” located?
Bangladesh, the capital of which is Dhaka, is located in South Asia and has an area of 144,000 square kilometers. The state occupies a part of the river delta, which was formed by the Ganges and Brahmaputra, and from the south it is washed by the waters of the Bay of Bengal. Since the country has 58 transboundary rivers, the use of water resources raises heated debates during discussions on these issues with India.
Bangladesh, or rather most of it, is 12 m below sea level, however, the highest point in the country is the 1,050-meter Movdok Mountain. Bangladesh has a tropical climate: March-June is a humid summer, and October-March is a mild winter. All this thanks to the Northern Tropic, which runs through the country. Precipitation is highly likely to occur in June-October (monsoon season).
The administrative regions of Bangladesh include Dhaka, Sylhet, Maimansingh, Chittagong, Khulna and others.
