Thermal springs in Bulgaria beckon travelers who want to start restoring their own health at local healing resorts (health and healing centers are built around natural thermal resources).
Features of thermal springs in Bulgaria
There are useful thermal springs in Bulgaria (there are about 250 hydrothermal deposits), the maximum temperature of which is + 103˚C. They are scattered all over the country, and even in the center of Sofia you can find a thermal spring with a water temperature of + 46˚C. It should be used for the treatment of gingivitis, gastrointestinal diseases, caries prevention, recovery from heavy metal poisoning …
The thermal springs of Devin are of no less interest - their waters are “warmed up” to + 37-44 degrees and help fight osteoporosis, arthritis, diseases of the nervous and cardiovascular systems.
It should be noted that the Bulgarian thermal springs have a different chemical composition and mineralization. The most concentrated are those located in the Varna region (up to 318 mg / l), and weak mineralization is characteristic of the waters of the Sofia springs (145 mg / l).
Bankya
The water temperature of Bankya springs (each of them “throws out” about 25 liters per second) is + 34-38˚C. Water containing iron, silver, copper, fluorides is used to treat diabetes, mild forms of thyrotoxicosis and other ailments. Bankya has two balneological complexes “Druzhba” and “Zdrave” (they are equipped with thermal pools). The healing effect is achieved through irrigation, mineral baths, showers, inhalations.
Sapareva Banya
The resort is famous for the hottest mineral water spring in Europe (+ 103˚C). The local balneological complex invites everyone not only to undergo a course of medical treatment, but also cosmetic procedures (weight loss and improvement of skin condition). Those who want to see the following objects rush here: the Church of St. Nicholas (the building of the 13th century has a carved roof and platbands); a thermal geyser gushing in the city center (the stream rises to a height of 18 meters every 20 seconds). This geyser feeds the local balneological complex, where health showers, baths and pools with hydromassage installations are provided to visitors.
Sveti Constantine and Elena
The resort is famous for its extended beach strip, a century-old park in which rare trees grow, and hot springs (temperature about +48 degrees). Tourists here will be offered to plunge into indoor and outdoor pools, which are filled with hot "mineral water" (+ 38-45˚C).
In the balneological centers of the resort Sveti Konstantin and Elena are waiting for those suffering from arthritis, gout, polyneuritis, skin and kidney diseases, as well as those who have problems with the gastrointestinal tract and respiratory tract.
Even if you do not need treatment, having tried the effect of healing sources on yourself, you will be pleasantly surprised at how your hair and skin will be transformed, and the nervous system will stabilize.
Those who decide to have fun will find a casino at the “Grand Hotel Varna”. On the coast, in the evening you can dance in discos in clubs, and in the afternoon - go diving and fishing.
Sandanski
Treatment with Sandanic waters (they have a high concentration of metasilicic acid - up to 4 mg / l), the temperature of which is + 42-81˚C, is indicated for those suffering from allergic, skin, diseases in the field of neurology and urology. Local water + climate relieves the condition of patients with asthma and chronic bronchitis.
Guests of Sandanski should pay attention to the local balneological clinics (there are gyms, kinesitherapy rooms and pools with thermal water) and visit the City Park - there are cedars, sequoias, pomegranate trees (100 species in total) and flowers (more than 150 species), as well as outdoor pool (filled with mineral water).
Hisar
For those who decide to improve their health in Hisar, there are 22 springs, the low-mineralized waters of which have a temperature of + 37-50 degrees, and successfully cope with gastritis, dyskinesia, pancreatitis and other ailments.
Famous springs include “Momina Banya” (contains radon in high concentration; temperature + 47˚C), “Momina sylza” (enriched with manganese, cobalt, zinc and other trace elements; water temperature + 42˚C; helps to achieve the desired effect in the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases), "Toplitsa" (water with an output of + 51˚C, is successfully used to treat gynecological diseases) and "Bistritsa" (+ 45-degree water is used exclusively for bathing in order to treat and prevent skin diseases).
And in Hisarya, mud is mined (indications for treatment: eczema, psoriasis and other skin diseases) and the ruins of a Roman fortress are examined (the 3-meter walls built in the 4th century are well preserved, as well as fragments of towers, of which there were once more than 40).
