Hungary attracts not only with its goulash and Tokaj wines. Those who plan to visit thermal springs in Hungary should know that in this country they can be found almost everywhere - in villages, cities, caves, mountains, in places surrounded by forests.

Features of thermal springs in Hungary

On the territory of Hungary there are about 60,000 springs, the water in which is over + 30˚C, so it is not surprising that many tourists visit this country for medical purposes.

Hungarian thermal spas (their waters have a different composition and have different healing effects) invite everyone who wants to forget about women's, skin and diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Most of these resorts are universal, but Hungary also has narrowly targeted resorts. These include Paradfurdo, where men and women are offered to solve the problem of infertility.

If you wish, you can stay in any of the hotels on the territory of which there are thermal springs, thereby combining health improvement with living in comfortable conditions. As for the Hungarian sanatoriums, they offer to undergo complex treatment of certain diseases (modern methods are used).

Budapest

The capital of Hungary, Budapest, has hot springs gushing out of the ground (more than 100), as well as baths:

  • Széchenyi: the bath is “supplied” with hot water by the well of St. Stephen (+ 77˚C; the water rises from the 1240-meter depth). The complex has 15 indoor and 3 outdoor pools (water is poured into the pools at a temperature of + 34˚C and + 38˚C; in the pool with "surprises" there are underwater multidirectional currents, and near the outdoor pools you will be able to find sun loungers on which you can sit, for sunbathing), and there is also a balneotherapy facility. Those who wish will be given a massage, offered to undergo a session of various types of therapy and to do gymnastics in water (it helps burn fat).
  • Rudash: she “feeds” on 15 springs, temperature + 35-42˚C. The bathhouse has 5 thermal (water temperature - up to + 42˚C) and 2 swimming (water heated to + 26˚C and + 29˚C) pools, a steam bath and a sauna. It is recommended to come here suffering from cartilaginous hernia and joint diseases, as well as from a lack of calcium in the skeletal system. The general days to visit are Saturday and Sunday, and the purely feminine is Tuesday. Night swimming is also available, but only on Fridays and Saturdays (22: 00-04: 00).

Bukfurdo

The thermal resort of Bükfürd has a therapeutic bath (indications: joint inflammation, diseases of the urological and gynecological spheres, sclerosis, gout, bone damage), which occupies the territory of a separate medical and tourist complex. It is equipped with 6 thermal (water temperature + 32-34˚C) and 4 therapeutic (water heated up to + 32-39˚C) pools. It is worth noting that local water (it contains a significant amount of iron, iodine, fluorine and carbon dioxide) is mined from a depth of 1282 meters, and at the exit it has a temperature of + 55˚C.

Gyula

Glory to the town of Gyula was brought by reserves of thermal waters and a healing bath, the location of which is a fortress, located in the palace park of Count Almasi. In this center, guests will find 20 pools of different temperatures (+ 31-38˚C) - the positive effect of bathing in them is achieved by people who need to undergo rehabilitation after injuries, as well as women suffering from diseases in the field of gynecology.

Miskolctapolca

The cave baths of Miskolctapolca (+ 28-35˚C) are located in depressions of natural origin, which were washed out by thermal waters. They are enriched with magnesium, bromine, iodine, radon, calcium, metasilicic acid. In May-September it will not be superfluous to visit the large open-air pool in the park.

Sharvar

In the Sharvar resort there are 2 springs with water “warmed up” to + 43˚C (it “hits” from 1200 meters depth) and + 83˚C (“breaks out” from 2000 meters depth). The water of the first source is sodium chloride (it is successfully used in the treatment of female diseases, sclerosis, rheumatism), and the second is alkaline-hydrocarbonate (treatment based on it is effective for those with circulatory disorders, problems with the musculoskeletal system and respiratory organs).

Those who have not deprived their attention of the local bathhouse, will try out the bath complex, the salt room and the therapeutic pools. It is worth noting that in the summer, for the sake of guests, the bath is equipped with a children's adventure pool, springboards for jumping into the water, pools with a slide + artificial waves.

Zalakaros

The attention of travelers in Zalakaros deserves the local springs of hot mineral waters (water with a temperature of + 85˚C has a rare composition - it contains fluorine, hydrogen sulfide, bromine, iodine and radioactive substances) and a health complex with 25 swimming pools. Indications for treatment: gynecological, rheumatic, spinal diseases, exhausted nervous system.
