Sometimes the elements depicted on heraldic symbols have nothing to do with a city or country, either geographically or historically. For example, the coat of arms of the Ulyanovsk region is decorated with two handsome lions at once, playing the role of shield holders. At the same time, it is clear that these beautiful, predatory representatives of the kingdom of fauna have never been the inhabitants of the local forests. But they are well-known characters in heraldry.
Stylishness and nobility of color
The color scheme of the heraldic symbol of the Ulyanovsk region contains three main colors, which are traditionally used in world heraldry. The noble azure color is used for the French shield.
In precious colors, gold and silver, important symbolic elements located on and around the shield are painted. Other representatives of the palette are present to an insignificant extent. This coat of arms looks great on a color photo, thanks to the carefully selected colors. The black and white image of the official symbol allows you to see each element in detail.
Description of the coat of arms
In addition to a rich palette, the coat of arms of this Russian region is characterized by the presence of a number of important complexes included in the composition. There are several versions, each of which can be used in one way or another:
- coat of arms with its own symbolic elements;
- a crowned shield complemented by a precious headdress;
- full coat of arms, including, in addition to the shield and crown, supporters, base, ribbon with the motto.
The Azure Shield contains two elements - the Silver Column and the Imperial Crown. In this case, the column has a base in the form of a base on a pedestal and a figured capital. The precious headdress crowning the column is complemented by azure ribbons.
Above the shield is the so-called land crown, it has a specific form - a gold hoop decorated with gems, and large teeth, in the form of acanthus, interspersed with small, supplemented with pearls.
Shield holders are mirror images of each other, with the exception of a nuance, one of them holds a golden sword in his paw, a symbol of readiness to defend the earth. The second predator has ears of wheat in its paw, which indicate the main direction of agriculture in the region.
At the base of the coat of arms there are: a silver gull, symbolizing the great Volga, two golden oak branches entwined with a golden ribbon, and a scroll with the region's motto inscribed.
