Portugal attracts tourists with delicious food and wine, ancient castles, picturesque landscapes, magnificent beaches, ocean coast, excellent conditions for diving and wedding tourism. And upon arrival, they will definitely be advised to pay attention to the waterfalls of Portugal.
Cascata do Veuda Noiva
In translation, the name of this waterfall means “Bridal Veil”: it, having a height of over 200 m, falls beautifully right into the ocean. Getting too close to the "Bridal Veil" will not work because of the rocky coastline, but there is a specially paved trail and an observation deck next to the waterfall. In the vicinity of the waterfall (moving a little to the north, you can find a shop with souvenirs), tourists can walk and taste high-quality Seical wine.
Cascata da peneda
Its milky-foamy streams slowly spread over the stones from a 30-meter height. In the park, where the waterfall is located, you can not only admire this beautiful natural creation, but also explore the trails designed for both hikers and tourists on bicycles (all interesting places are marked on the map, which is sold at the tourist information center of the park). If you wish, you can stay in this area for a couple of days: there are campgrounds and tourist centers at the guests' service.
Cascata da Cabreia
A trip to this 25-meter waterfall should be planned for romantic-minded tourists - here they will find themselves in a cozy atmosphere and silence, surrounded by dense vegetation, and nearby they will find equipped picnic areas.
Cascata da Frecha da Mizarela
This 75-meter waterfall (located on the Kaima River) has established itself as “one of the highest European waterfalls outside the Alps and Scandinavia”. And this is a reason to go here to admire its beauty and grandeur.
Caldeira o Verde
The beginning of the path to the waterfall begins at the Keimadash camp site (upper part of Santana city) - it will be surrounded by dense vegetation (travelers will see laurels, cedars and other trees), and to find yourself close to the main goal of your journey, you need to overcome several tunnels. Important: at least 6 hours should be allocated for the hike.
Cascata do Pulo do Lobo
The waterfall, which falls from a 20-meter height, is formed by the Guadiana River. Its stream rushes to the pool, which is suitable for swimming. Tourists in this area will be readily told the legend associated with the waterfall: it says that a wolf that goes hunting can jump over it, finding itself on the other side of the waterfall.
