The waterfalls in Bulgaria are about 300 small and large water cascades, formed on the territory of this country due to melting snows, mountain rivers and streams.

Krushunsky waterfalls

These travertine cascades are the largest in the country (the waterfalls created karst terraces that are covered with moss). The visibility of this natural landmark (the height of the main part of the waterfall is 20 m) is due to the presence of a tourist route built to it, consisting of paths and bridges. So, for example, it will be possible to get to the karst caves, which are forbidden to visit only in June-July, when rare bats begin to breed, which have chosen them. Travelers often organize trips to these places with overnight stays and pitching tents.

Boyansky waterfall

Its waters, falling down from a 15-meter height, can be clearly seen from the center of Sofia in clear weather. Those who decide to get to it can find a building at the end of the Boyana quarter, near which a sign is installed, which is the beginning of the path: route 1 assumes a steep climb, and 2 - a gradual climb (in general, to get to the very top of the Boyana waterfall, you will need about 3 hours). Those who are inspired by the beauty of this place, and do not want to leave it quickly, can stay at the hotel located near the waterfall.

Borov Kamak

In the area where this waterfall is located (the height of the fall is 60 m), you will be able to see black pines and beeches. And it is recommended to get here along the path that starts from the village of Zgorigrad and passes by picturesque places (along the way, you can make a halt, sitting in a meadow, and having a picnic). Despite the rather simple route (the road takes about 1, 5 hours), it is recommended to take a guide with you, since you may encounter steep sections on the way (in some places, wooden bridges and stairs are provided for the convenience of travelers).

Kostenetsky waterfall

This 12-meter waterfall is located in the Rila Mountains, on the Stara River. Nearby tourists will be able to find an organized picnic area, catering establishments (the menu includes traditional Bulgarian dishes), as well as mineral springs. In winter, the nearby places are popular with lovers of skiing, and in summer - beautiful landscapes, delicious spring water and clean mountain air.

Bachkovo waterfall

A walk to this picturesque waterfall will take those who want to see it 15-20 minutes walk from the Bachkovo Monastery (there are hiking trails with signs).
