Italy is a country with a predominantly subtropical climate, the temperature rarely drops below zero degrees even in January, so before going on a trip, check the weather forecast in advance, and then decide what to take with you to Italy.
Documents and money
In addition to your foreign passport, it is advisable to take with you photocopies of your documents and an international driver's license if your plans include car rental. You can pre-scan documents and save photos on a USB flash drive, which is best left in the hotel's storage room, small pickpockets thrive in Italy, so in case of failure, you can easily solve all the difficulties that have arisen through the embassy. Italy has a huge number of banks and terminals, there is no need to carry a lot of cash with you.
Clothes and accessories
- First of all, you need to bring a bathing suit, sunscreen and a light beach bag, as well as glasses, a mask and a snorkel if you are a fan of contemplating underwater beauty.
- If the trip fell on the cold season, you need to choose the appropriate wardrobe and stock up on a jacket, gloves, a hat and a scarf. In ski resorts, you do not need to flaunt a fur coat.
- If you plan to visit excursions, take a pair of comfortable shoes with solid soles, do not forget that the streets in Italy are often paved with paving stones, and long walking along them creates a lot of discomfort for an unprepared tourist.
- In the warm season, it is quite possible to limit yourself to two pairs of trousers, a set of T-shirts, socks and underwear. Shorts are not popular even on the hottest days; Italians usually wear them on the beach, but not on the street. A person with a colorful backpack or in socks and sandals will also make the locals laugh.
- If you are planning to visit the Vatican or other Christian shrines, please bring your shoulder and knee protection.
Medicines and personal hygiene
Italian hotels usually regularly supply their guests with soap, shampoo, a set of clean linen and a towel, there is no need to take toothpaste and a brush with you either, if you do not find them at the hotel, you can easily buy this stuff in the nearest supermarket or at market.
There are more than enough pharmacies in Italy, however, the prices for most drugs are much higher than in Russia, so it is recommended to pack a small first-aid kit with you on your trip: antipyretic, antiseptic and antihistamines, as well as hydrogen peroxide, a patch and bandage.
