The capital of Moldova allows travelers to go on a wine tour, breathe clean air in any of the squares and 23 parks (famous for their green spaces), take part in various cultural events, see local architecture, and have fun in AquaMagic.
Triumphal Arch
The victory in the Russo-Turkish War was marked by the erection of a 13-meter Arch (a structure of 2 tiers, the lower tier has through rectangular openings for pedestrian traffic, and the upper one is decorated with bells and clocks) - one of the symbols of the city.
Water tower
Previously, to get to the top of the 22-meter tower, a metal spiral staircase was used (the old staircase has survived to this day, but is not used for its intended purpose), and today there is an elevator here. Since 2011, those who wish can view kitchen utensils, handicrafts, handicraft tools and other items belonging to residents of Chisinau of different classes, and the main exposition of the museum (in addition to the exhibition “History of the Chisinau water supply system,” others are planning to open here), as well as admire the Chisinau beauties from the observation deck (they plan to install telescopes here so that guests can better see the sights), surrounded by a solid border with railings.
It is worth noting that in the evening the tower is illuminated by spotlights installed around it (the tower is illuminated with multi-colored rays, the color of which changes every 10 seconds).
Useful information: address: Strada Alexei Mateevici, a visit with a guided tour costs 30 lei.
Monument to Stephen the Great
Travelers will find one of the main monuments (Stefan is dressed in a rich robe and a crown on his head) of the Moldovan capital at the entrance to the park of the same name (it is worth taking at least one photo against its background).
Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ
Guests of Chisinau will be able to inspect this cathedral in the style of Russian classicism, crowned with a large dome, and then go to the adjacent square with 8 entrances and an area of 9 hectares (it is decorated with flower beds with rare flowers and century-old trees - lindens, elms, maples).
Mazarakievskaya church
Despite the fact that the exterior of the building (old Moldavian style) is rather harsh, tourists should look inside to admire the picturesque interior. Advice: travelers should find a memorial stone at the foot of the hill where the church is located (here Stephen III announced the founding of the city) and take a few photos next to it.
