Afghanistan is one of the most interesting and dangerous destinations for modern tourism. Not so long ago, this region was very "hot", so even beautiful sights could not lure travelers here. Today, the situation here is almost calm, so the streets of Kabul are welcoming more and more tourists. You can try to explore the city on your own, although there is still some risk of running into trouble. But it only gives a special flavor and makes the trip truly unforgettable.
There are very few official sights in Kabul, but some of the ancient districts of the city are perfectly preserved and look exactly the same as they did hundreds of years ago, so you can make many interesting discoveries on your own exploring the streets of the city.
Mayvand Avenue
It is this street that is in the first place in the list of must-see places. It is also called the trading heart of Kabul. Here tourists can see with their own eyes what a real oriental bazaar is, bargain enough, take a photo for memory and taste traditional cuisine. Although the latter, of course, is strictly at your own peril and risk.
Char-Chat quarter
This street, or rather, several of its blocks, is a miniature copy of Maiwanda Avenue. True, this place is more focused on the local population, which, however, makes it even more valuable for tourists. After all, it is here that you can see how the everyday life of the average resident of Kabul passes and become more closely acquainted with the culture of this city.
Muhammad Akbar Khan Wa Street
This street with a long name can also be recommended to every curious tourist. The largest mosque in the city is located here, and in itself this corner amazes with its unusually variegated architecture - a consequence of the heterogeneity of the national composition of the population of this district. True, while walking along Muhammad Akbar Khan Wa street, you need to remember that at certain times it is very crowded here due to the influx of believers, therefore, in order to avoid unpleasant incidents, it is better to be very careful.
Wasir Akbar Khan Street
We can say right away that you won't be able to find anything particularly noteworthy here. This street can rather be identified as one of the most modern in the city. There are boutiques, shopping centers, shops, as well as expensive hotels and restaurants. Here you can have a good rest after walking in the old town and its surroundings.
