A trip to Armenia can be a real fabulous journey, and the cable car rides will be remembered forever.
Buses
The route network covers almost all cities and towns of the country. It is the bus that is the most common way to travel around this country. You can also get from a small settlement to another by private buses. However, there is no specific departure time. The driver sends the car after filling the cabin.
Car rental
Rental services are becoming more and more popular. You can rent a car and drive it yourself, but if you wish, you also get a driver along with the car. The second option is more preferable, since the local population does not follow the rules at all. And if extreme is not yours, then you should not save money and use the service of renting a car with a personal driver.
To rent a car, you need to show your license and have at least a year of driving experience.
Taxi
If desired, a taxi can be used not only as a way to move around the city, but also to move between two settlements. If there is no desire to overpay, then a taxi must be ordered by phone. In this case, the operator must immediately clarify the cost of the trip, naming the end point.
Cable cars
To visit Armenia and not ride one of them is an unforgivable mistake. The price of the trip is quite affordable. It is also convenient that there are no traffic jams, typical for the traffic of large cities.
- The cable car of Yerevan connects the capital with the Norsky plateau. The length of the route is 540 meters. Today it is closed.
- Cable car in Tsaghkadzor. The length of the local route is as much as 6 km.
- The cable car of the city of Jermuk is used to climb to the top of Mount Shish.
- The Alaverdi cable car connects the city with the Sanait and Haghpat monasteries. These are famous tourist attractions included in the UNESCO list.
- The cable car connects two villages: Tatev and Halidzor. It was opened in 2010 and is the longest one.
Railway transport
The total length of the railway lines is 830 km. There is only one major direction: Yerevan - Vanadzor. But trains leave on the route twice during the day. In addition, there are daily departing suburban trains on the Yerevan - Yeraskh route. You can get to Sevan from the capital only in summer.
If we compare the speed of travel on trains / electric trains and buses, then the latter are much more convenient to ride. In addition, the electric trains are badly worn out and need to be completely replaced. Quite often they even lack windows. Such suburban trains run between Yerevan and Yeraskhm and Gyumri.
