Description of the attraction

Moalboal is a small town in the province of Cebu with a population of only 27 thousand people. The city, located on the southwestern coast of the island of Cebu, 89 km from the island capital, is washed by the Tagnon Strait from the west, and from its shores you can see the islands of Negros, Badian and the popular tourist resort - Pescador Island. There is an old lighthouse on Pescador - one of the interesting sights of the island.

Since the early 1970s, a tourism industry has begun to flourish in Moalboal, primarily targeting diving and beach enthusiasts. It is here that the famous Panagsama Beach is located with many hotels, spa resorts, bars and restaurants, and the White Beach, popular among fans of "lazy" relaxation, with the purest sand and crystal waters. You can get to the town by public transport or by taxi - the road from Cebu International Airport will take about 2.5 hours.

Outdoor enthusiasts appreciate Moalboal for its excellent diving and snorkeling opportunities. Located off the coast, the small islet of Pescador is considered one of the finest diving sites in the Philippines due to its coral reef. The depths here do not exceed 40 meters, and the visibility is just excellent. The reef is located in the Moalboal Marine Park, known for its incredible biological diversity, one of the highest in the world. The exact number of fish species living in the waters of the park is unknown, but according to rough estimates, it is 2.5 thousand! This is about 70% of all fish species recorded in the Philippines.

And 20 km from Moalboal, you can find beautiful waterfalls, hidden among the thickets of the forest, caves and shallow, but very interesting canyons.
