The population of Norway is over 4.9 million people.
Traces of the first settlers were found on the northern and northwestern coast of Norway - they belonged to the Scandinavian tribe, related to the Angles and Danes.
Today there is no unequivocal opinion as to how Norway was settled - from north to south, or from south to north, but one thing is certain that in ancient times the Norwegians inhabited the territories from the southern side of Vike Bay to Drontheim.
National composition:

Life span
On average, residents of Norway live up to 80 years old (male population lives up to 78 years old, and female population lives up to 81 years old).
The high rates of life expectancy are due to the fact that Norway holds the record for health care expenditures in Europe (more than $ 5500 is allocated for this expenditure per year per person). Equally important is the fact that in recent years the number of smokers in Norway has halved. In addition, in the country, only 10% of the population have problems with obesity and overweight.
Traditions and customs of the inhabitants of Norway
The Norwegians are hospitable people, but when dealing with unfamiliar people, they show restraint and alertness until they get to know them better.
Norwegians love to celebrate Constitution Day (May 17) - on this day, they take out national costumes (bunads) from the closets, the cost of which reaches several thousand dollars, and go to them for a demonstration, after which a concert is arranged for local residents. Well, in the evening every family organizes a festive dinner.
It is customary to put on your first bunad for confirmation (chrismation) - this is a family tradition, which is an initiation into adulthood (it takes place at the age of 15). On this day, young people give money - from that day on they begin to collect their first capital.
Residents of Norway are very polite: if suddenly a Norwegian motorist accidentally splashes mud at you, he will help you clean your clothes, take you home, or even pay for dry cleaning services.
If you are going to Norway, keep in mind that smoking in public places, making fires from April 15 to September 15 and throwing garbage on the streets is prohibited here (for violation of the ban, a fine will be imposed, and a tourist may be deprived of a visa and the right to enter the country for a long time).
