On average, prices in the Canary Islands are slightly lower compared to the continental regions of Spain.

It is worth noting that prices largely depend on the time of visiting the islands (you will be especially pleased with prices in February-April).

Shopping and souvenirs

Shopping in the Canary Islands is an opportunity to purchase various goods at attractive prices (on the island the tax on the sale of goods is 5%, and in mainland Spain - 16%).

It is better to buy souvenirs in the Canary Islands away from tourist centers - for this purpose, choose the shops open in the side streets (the cost of these products is much lower here, and the range and quality are no worse).

The ideal place for shopping is “El Corte Inglas” (Tenerife), where on 7 floors there are various shops with clothes, shoes, leather goods, children's goods …

As for pearl jewelry, it is advisable to buy them in Tenerife at the Tenerife Pearl center.

What to bring from your vacation in the Canary Islands?

- cosmetics and perfumery, pearl jewelry, small carved balconies made of Canary pine, boxes, figurines, panels, cutting boards made of olive wood and Canary pine, lace products, stylish clothes, shoes and accessories of famous brands, mouthpieces and pipes, fragrant tobacco, ceramics, wickerwork (bags, hats, baskets), pieces of solidified volcanic lava;

- olive oil, wine, Canarian rum, sangria, palm honey.

In the Canaries, you can buy olive oil from 3.5 euros, wicker products - from 7-8 euros, pieces of solidified volcanic lava - from 5 euros, cosmetics - from 10 euros, Canarian pine products - from 10-15 euros.

Excursions

On an excursion to the island of Tenerife, you will visit the towns of Erhos and Santiago del Teide (from here you will be able to admire the wonderful panorama overlooking the Teide volcano).

When visiting the town of Icod de los Vinos, you will see the famous dragon tree and the Church of St. Mark.

In addition, here you will visit a wine cellar, which means that you will visit a tasting of local liqueurs and wines.

This excursion will end at the ethnographic park “Pyramids of Guimara”.

You will pay about 100 euros for this tour.

Entertainment

Approximate prices for entertainment: a trip to the Teide volcano will cost you 65-70 euros, a visit to the knights' tournament (San Miguel castle) - 50 euros, a 3-hour yacht trip - 55-60 euros.

Transport

The main island transport is Guagua: it is advisable to pay for travel with a BonaVia magnetic card, which will save you 30-50% of the cost of the trip (the price of the card is 15-25 euros). The same card will enable you to travel by tram. A single ticket costs about 1.5 euros.

As for the taxi ride, you will pay 1.7 euros for landing + 1 euro / 1 km.

If you wish, you can rent a car - the rental will cost you 40-80 euros per day.

For a good rest in the Canary Islands, you will need about 100 euros per day for 1 person.
