Oryol is a small, but cozy and beautiful town in Russia. The history of the settlement began in 1566, when Ivan the Terrible issued a decree to create this provincial center. Epiphany Cathedral.
The Epiphany Cathedral is the oldest stone building in the city. Construction took place in the 1640s. Initially, the Epiphany Monastery was located here, which ceased to exist in 1680. Miraculous icons have survived to this day.

Assumption Monastery.
To date, the Assumption Monastery has hardly survived, but it is still a mandatory part of the tourist program. Of the buildings, only the Trinity Church-tomb was able to survive, the construction of which was carried out from 1843 to 1845. In 2004, a small chapel was built on the territory of the monastery in honor of Alexander Nevsky. Under the erected chapel, there is an artesian well, the depth of which reaches 148 m. The water from this well is consecrated, after which it can be tasted by all parishioners.

Shopping arcade.
The construction of the Trading Rows was carried out at the end of the 18th century. However, they subsequently burned down. The shopping arcade was rebuilt in 1849 and now occupies the whole block located at 2 Gostinaya Street.

Memorial to the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Eagle.
In 1966, a memorial to the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city appeared in Oryol. The composition is based on a vertical obelisk made of granite. On this obelisk are carved dates that have become significant in the history of the Eagle. A letter to descendants is immured at the foot.

Square "Noble nest".
"Noble's Nest" is a public garden located on the left bank of the Orlik. According to legend, it was in this place that the estate was located, after which Turgenev named his story. At the edge of the square is the Turgenev pavilion, next to it is an observation deck and a bust of the great writer.
