According to many travelers, one of the best places for recreation in Karelia is the Sandal camping, located on the shore of the lake of the same name, 22 kilometers from the town of Kondopoga. Full unity awaits those travelers who choose a tent as their temporary home. It is clear that the most popular pastime is relaxing on the shore of the lake. But if you want to touch the historical shrines, you can go to Kondopoga, where a wooden church, erected in 1774, has been preserved.
Not far from the capital of Karelia, the glorious city of Petrozavodsk, there is one of the famous campsites in the republic. It is located in close proximity to the tourist center "Raduga", right on the shore of Syamozero, which is of glacial origin and many straits, bays and islets.
10 kilometers from Belomorsk and within walking distance from the village of Vygostrov there is another camping. Its attractive features are its location in an ecologically clean place with beautiful natural landscapes. Not far from the recreation center are the Solovetsky Islands, which have a notorious reputation as a place of exile during the years of Stalin's repressions and are of great interest to history buffs. There are also two objects in Belomorsk that are attractive for both adults and young tourists: a local history museum that tells about the history, nature, architectural and cultural monuments of the region; "White Sea Petroglyphs", a famous archaeological complex, including about 30 sites of primitive man and rock paintings.
Camping "Rantala" can be called one of the most cozy and cute places for recreation. It consists of several houses, each dwelling has two full sleeping places and two additionally organized ones, a refrigerator, a TV set. Nice tents next to the houses are kind of summer kitchens, which have the necessary furniture and a gas stove. On the territory of this camping there is a shower, toilet and a tourist bath on the shores of Lake Ladoga.
