Description of the attraction

The Menara Kuala Lumpur TV Tower is the seventh tallest telecommunications tower in the world and the tallest observation deck in the capital of Malaysia. It shares popularity and recognition among the high-rise buildings of Kuala Lumpur only with the Petronas Towers. Menara is located in the very center of the city and, soaring up to 421 meters, serves as a beautiful landmark for residents and guests.

The grandiose construction of the TV tower took almost five years. At the date of opening, in 1996, it occupied the fifth place in height, but over time it gave way to new buildings.

The general design of the Menard TV Tower is intended to symbolize the human desire for excellence. Its architectural style is a combination of classical motives of Islamic architecture with high-tech elements. The impressive dome is made using the muqarna technique: a honeycomb vault typical of Arab buildings. In this case, it resembles a huge diamond.

The TV tower is located on the top of a high hill in the middle of the oldest forest reserve in the country. This is another "green lung" of the central part of the metropolis, where many exotic plants, tropical trees and some species of animals have been preserved. The reserve has a small zoo right at the foot of the TV tower. Since it cannot compete in scale with a park of birds or deer, the organizers came up with another "highlight" - they turned this small living corner into an exhibition of unusual animals. Here you can see a turtle with two heads, albino toads, albino turtles, etc.

A century-old tree that found itself in the construction zone testifies to the respect for nature. Of course, they did not cut it down, but created a retaining wall around it, on it - a platform with a railing. It took a lot of time and money, but now this tree is a part of the architectural ensemble of the TV tower and its landmark.

The observation deck of the TV tower is located at a height of 276 meters - almost a hundred meters above the platform of the Petronas towers. You can get there by high-speed elevator or by overcoming two thousand steps of the stairs. It offers the most stunning views of Kuala Lumpur. In the daytime, in clear weather, visibility reaches 50 meters, in the evening you can admire the lights of the center. Six meters higher there is another observation deck - in the restaurant.

Menara TV Tower is also called the "Garden of Light" - for the magnificent evening illumination in all colors.
