Description of the attraction
Sydney TV Tower is one of the tallest buildings in the world: the tallest in Sydney and the second tallest in Australia and the southern hemisphere. Height built in 1975-1981. towers - 305 meters. Inside is the city's main observation deck, and it is located 50 meters higher than the observation deck of the Sky Tower, the tallest skyscraper in the southern hemisphere, in Auckland, New Zealand. You can climb it on one of the three elevators (in 40 seconds!) Or on the stairs, overcoming 1504 steps. But after such an ascent, it will be possible to admire not only the panorama of Sydney from a height of 260 meters, but also see the Blue Mountains on the horizon.
There is also a small souvenir shop and a board that displays information about the state of the tower, wind speed and atmospheric pressure. 18 meters higher, there is an open area with a glass bottom Skywalk platform, which can be visited as part of a special tour. And under the observation deck there is a restaurant for 220 people. This is one of the most popular establishments in Sydney - more than 185 thousand people visit it annually, a considerable part of whom are tourists.
During the Christmas and New Year holidays, the tower is illuminated with colorful lights, and sometimes fireworks are launched from the top.
