Description of the attraction
The dacha of the Russian entrepreneur Georgy Grigorievich Borman, who was engaged in the confectionery business, is located in the village of Komarovo on Morskaya Street, number 8, in the Kurortny district of St. Petersburg. It is an object of cultural and historical heritage. Bormann also owned a neighboring mansion with a turret at 14 Morskaya Street, which is now also an object of cultural and historical heritage.
Some sources question the connection of G. G. Bormann with these buildings. On Morskaya, 8, one building has survived, the pillars from the gates and the foundation of the house, which once burned down. According to the "plan of the Kellomäki dacha district" drawn up in 1913 for the needs of the Fire Society, I. A. Vladimirov (a copy is in the Komarov library) Chizhov owned the estate. The owners of the estate used the relief of the area and its natural vegetation to arrange a park with artificial reservoirs in the lower and upper terraces and a litorina ledge. The banks of the reservoirs were lined with stone.
Villa Reno was turned into a boarding house of Vanda Fedorovna Oreshnikova, with a large garden and a park that stretched down the slope to the coast of the Gulf of Finland. On the slope there are many springs that fill a cascade and three ponds surrounded by irises. Water cascaded down white stone steps from pond to pond. At the very bottom was a pond, similar in size to a lake. It was surrounded by silvery willows, poplars, lindens, maples. In the center of a large pond was an island that was planted with jasmine and lilacs. There was also a pier with a small boat.
After 1917, the family of the owners of the boarding house became related to the family of Ivan Petrovich Pavlov, who also went here on vacation. After the war, a kindergarten was organized at Villa Reno. Today (since 2000) the heavily overgrown slope of the estate towards the Gulf of Finland is included in the territory of the natural monument "Komarovsky Bereg". Restoration work is underway in the park.
In 2003, the book "Villa Renault" by Natalia Galkina was published, where fantastic and real events demonstrate the connection between countries, times, cultures and nations.
In September 2010, the land and non-residential buildings of Bormann's summer cottage were put up for sale.
