Description of the attraction
The Protaras Aquarium is considered one of the largest and most popular oceanic aquariums in Cyprus. It is an interesting and enjoyable place where you can learn a lot, have fun and have a good rest. At the moment, it is home to about 1000 different species of marine animals, fish and birds - all of them are kept in spacious aquariums and pavilions, the conditions of which are as close as possible to the natural habitat of specific species.
The entire territory of the aquarium is divided into several sections, each of which is dedicated to certain species. So, a significant part of the territory of the aquarium is allocated for crocodiles and alligators - Nile, Siamese, caimans. Some of the reptiles living in this park are up to three meters in length. There are also pools with funny black-footed (African) penguins and sea turtles. In addition, the aquarium has become home to many different species of fish that live in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, as well as in the Mediterranean Sea: moray eels, piranhas, clown fish, anemones, sharks, eels and others.
On the territory of the aquarium there is a small but cozy cafe where you can order refreshing drinks or have a snack. In addition, the aquarium provides a unique opportunity to arrange a children's party there or organize an unusual and bright birthday party that will be remembered for a long time by everyone present.
The Oceanarium is open all year round and is open to the public every day.
