Description of the attraction
To the southeast of the island of Skiathos, which is located in the Northern Sporades archipelago in the Aegean Sea, there is a group of small, uninhabited islets. Beautiful beaches and picturesque nature attracts lovers of peace and quiet relaxation here. As a rule, these islands are visited only on a day trip, as there is nowhere to stay.
The largest and most popular of these islands is Tsugriya (owned by the municipality of Skiathos). It is located just 3 km opposite the harbor of Skiathos. Tsugriya is a very green island with pine and eucalyptus trees. There are several separate beaches on the island. The most visited of them lies in a cozy, sheltered bay with crystal clear turquoise water, which is ideal for snorkeling, so it is worth bringing some special equipment with you. Entering the water remains shallow enough for a long time, which will be very useful and safe if you are relaxing with children. It is possible to rent a sun lounger and parasol. There is a tavern on this beach where you can have a great snack.
On the opposite side of the island is a more secluded beach that can be reached by private boat or walking through the forest. It is not as good as the beach in the bay, but it is always calm and quiet here.
Tsugriya is a “little piece of secluded paradise” that is definitely worth a visit. Getting to the island will not be difficult. A tourist boat runs regularly from the port of Skiathos, and you can also rent a boat and get there on your own.
