Description of the attraction
The Ice Palace is one of the cultural and entertainment attractions of the beautiful city of Batumi. The complex is located on one of the city's embankments on New Boulevard. In total, the palace can receive up to 2,500 visitors in its arena.
The grand opening of the Batumi Ice Palace took place in August 2001. The ice complex was built in accordance with all European standards. The best Slovak specialists took part in its construction.
The palace was built from the most modern materials using a unique technology, using the latest design and engineering solutions. Today, the Ice Palace in Batumi is the only sports complex in Georgia that meets Olympic standards.
The head of state M. Saakashvili was present at the ceremony of laying the foundation of the Ice Palace. Even then, the President stressed that after a while Georgia will host not only European, but also world-class competitions. This unique building has become a real decoration of the infrastructure and the pride of the Black Sea city.
The Ice Palace in Batumi is a multipurpose sports complex. Such competitions are held here in hockey, figure skating, short track speed skating and so on. Figure skating sections are open in the cultural and entertainment complex. Children from 4 to 11 years old can attend figure skating courses free of charge.
Currently, the Batumi Ice Palace is one of the most popular and unusual places for recreation for both local residents and guests of the city. It is especially pleasant to relax in the palace in the midst of a hot summer.
